Nina Hilger with the Krypt Masters - New Song: Hit the Ground
You live like there's no tomorrow.
Perhaps you live in a dream, where there's no beginning or end.
Perhaps one day, you will care to know.

NINA HILGER : TARGET TOWER : HILTON, Minneapolis, Minnesota : Newsboys
During a seminar (2012) in Minneapolis, I enjoyed this view: the Target Tower from my room at the Hilton downtown hotel. Captivated by this gorgeous moving art, I forgot everything. In that peaceful moment, the world was simple and uncomplicated. Then, in 2015 I put lyrics to this video clip; a reflection of my struggle to recapture that precious time.
Now, years later, I’m grateful for that opportunity to travel and experience that precious moment in time. NH
“in this time of desperation,
all we know is doubt and fear....”
from the song:
We Believe, by the Newsboys

10,000 Reasons
10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman is one of the songs that put me back on track. With a guitar I began practising the song that haunted me day and night.
My fingers hurt as I practiced my chords, but I couldn't get enough of it. It stirred a passion in me. Since then my life has grown in ways I had never imagined possible.
With God all things are possible.

NINA HILGER :: Renovation Dream turned Nightmare : TRUE STORY
She had a dream. A beautiful dream.
He made incredible promises.
One day in a quiet rage, he left her.
The dream became a nightmare.

Welland Canal and Remembering Loved Ones at Easter
My mother and brother passed away years ago, at this time of year. They were always there for me. Never abandoned me. They loved me so much.
I miss my mother's 7am wake up calls and the endless lectures about how to be a 'real' lady. Even when it seemed I could do nothing right in her eyes, she continued to love me. She brought me food and treats all the time. She always thought of me and always gave me little gifts from her flea market or thrifting hauls.
My brother, Leroy, was always around me as we grew up. Mom made him take me everywhere with him. As a teen he brought me to my first movie, Grease. That was so special to me, but boys from his school made fun of him for being with his sister.
"Who cares what they think!" was all he said. I knew he was mad, but he stayed by my side and walked me home. I always felt very protected by Leroy.
He was an entrepenuer. So was my mother. They knew when and where to find a good deal. They were the best thrifters and flea marketers I have ever known. And they loved me. I really miss their beautiful, unconditional love.
Here is what my son and I did for them at Easter.

He brought me to the Welland canal with him every day during the summer. The guys on the ships passing through Lock 3 would throw coins and treasures to us. Leroy would buy me a snack and tell me to wave at the ships. And thus began his coin, stamp and flag collection.

Value Village - Super Savers - Winter Clearance 50% off haul!!
Last autumn I purged a lot of clothes. It was great to give away things to the charity stores. I know people will find a great home for my unwanted items. But I went through winter with one good winter jacket and not many sweaters.
Last week I hit the Winter Clearance sale at Value Village. It was pure luck to hear about the sale the day prior to the event. Here is part one of my Value Village Winter Clearance Haul. I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I enjoyed finding the great deals!!
I found jackets as cheap as $10 from Danier Leather, the Gap and Jacob. The sweaters were as cheap as $3 from the Gap, Jacob, Hollister and Ann Taylor. There are two sweet cashmere sweaters too!
Please check out my youtube channel and subscribe to follow me. Thank you and have an awesome week!

New Vlog 1
During a power outage it all came back to me. He teased me when I was a young girl and I was so gullible to his pranks. It was odd how I would never became mad at him for doing cruel things to me.
This had been going on since the day I was born, so I didn't see anything wrong with his ways. Being one of five kids, I loved that he paid attention to me. He was a raconteur.

How to TREAT a Plantars Wart
June 2014 my dr said it wasn't a wart on my left foot. I went back a week later and begged her to freeze it. I knew it was a wart.
Instead, she sent me for x-rays, and to a wart specialist. Then a foot specialist. After five months, and five different doctors saying it was a callus I was ready to jump out of my skin. I was in so much pain everytime I walked on my foot.
At the foot clinic in Hamilton the doctor said he couldn't treat this 'callus' until he treated the plantars wart. He said because it was left so long the root was deep and it will take some time to get rid of it.
Lovely, I said. Just treat it. Two months later it is still there. It felt like a horn was growing out of my foot! Julia advised me to try Dandelion Extract on it. Apparently it will draw out the root and her clients have had great results with it on their warts.
So here I explore unconventional therapy for plantars wart. Please watch my videos, share and subscribe. Also I would love to hear your comments!

Great Canadian Winter Fun!
Feeding the Chickadees at Cootes Paradise was a great success on one of the coldest January days! Grab a bag of Black Sunflower Seeds from the Dollar Store and hike the trails at Cootes Paradise, in Hamilton, Ontario.
The kids will love the chickadees and woodpeckers landing on their bare hands. The trails are wide enough for strollers and groups. They are also marked and easy to follow from many entrances.
Parking is $1/hr and there are washrooms and a campground. My seven year old loves to spend a few hours here. So we pack snacks and wear warm clothes. A perfect outing for families! Only one and a half hours from the US border. One hour south of Toronto. www.rbg.ca

Fabulous Finds at Value Village!!
One day I thought I would test my son, to see if I could actually shop for clothing with him. If I could shop without him whining, arguing or a meltdown...then he would earn some time on his game at home.
Well, an hour and three fabulous finds later we left the store. I was shocked how he pushed the cart for me and remained quiet while I took my sweet time looking through the clothes.
Then he patiently waited while I was in the change room. He was very polite and attentive with me. This completely surprised me. But then, when there is a game involved in the bribe, anything is possible!
Here are the three gorgeous items I purchased that day. They are in perfect condition and I absolutely love them!

Feel Awesome Today!
Studies have shown we need a sufficient amount of Vitamin D to be strong and healthy. One great way is to use a Full Spectrum Lamp. My lamp was purchased about five years ago and I use it almost everyday, even during the summer months!
Costco has a great floor lamp with full spectrum light at a reasonable price. There are two settings, 'high' for when you use it during the day and 'low' for the evening hours.
Do a bit of research and get yourself a full spectrum light. You will feel like you spent a bit of time at the beach!

reBuilding a Foundation
My mother and her brother desperately wanted a fresh new start, away from the brutal memories of the war. So they began their journey to the south of Germany. Their cousins had connections for work in Stuttgart.
There they were, four spunky teengers, full of hope and a drive for adventure. With the war far behind, it seemed there were many new things to discover in the world.
They quickly came up with a plan to travel to Canada. Each day they counted their money. One day they bought their plane tickets for the big trip.
My mother was thrilled to leave Germany. She desperately wanted a new life. In Canada she married her brothers best friend and they had three kids, my half brothers and sister. They lived at 41st East Street on the Hamilton Mountain.
During the 60s love was everywhere. While hippies were exploring their love, my uncle Johann wanted to return to his girlfriend in Germany. Mom was determined not to return to Germany, so she set out to find a job.
At the local coffee shop; Mr. Tim Horton was charmed by her shy smile and immediately gave her a job. He took a chance on this woman with a thick German accent and the customers quickly fell in love with "Gitta".
The regular customers taught her english, a little more every day. Even with three small children and a very unsettled marriage, she was able to stay focused on her goal to remain in Canada.
The children taught her english from their school books and in turn, she read the daily comics with them. We adopted her accent, and we spoke very little German. We perfectly understood our mothers unique blend of German, Russian and English.
Gittas language barrier became frustrating but it was great fun to watch her persevere because was passionate about making a point. This stubborness has been carried down through generations and now I see it in my young son.
She taught us kids dedication; to follow something through - to make a point - to achieve a goal. To conquer limits and fears - to achieve something beyond our greatest imagination. And when everything is lost, or taken away, rebuild a foundation. Or build a new dream.
When mom's family lost their property and possessions during the war, she learned to trust God. When their foundation crumbled, they perservered, determined to make a life for themselves.
Throughout her life, mom had to rebuild her foundation a number of times. After all, trauma and misfortune are just a part of life. She was always passionate to help people, no matter what their status. She taught me; with God nothing is impossible.
One day, I when my life fell apart, I found something my mother taught me. Perseverance. She taught me every cloud has a silver lining. And every day is a new beginning.
In the midst of chaos and the dark night of soul; in the eye of the storm, there is the peace of God. When everything falls apart and I am left grasping at reality - it is in those weak moments I feel the Grace of God.
When the foundation crumbles - stand strong. In the midst of it all listen to God. "My Grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness..." 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

This is an appropriate day for a new beginning. Today I remember my mother and the sacrifices she made so that I can have a better life today.
She was five years old during World War II and she would occasionally tell the horrific stories from that time in her life. Pets had to be slaughtered to feed the families. Food was difficult for my grandparents to find for their three little ones. In the streets there was talk of canabalism. Crime was huge and no one ever felt safe.
My mother talked about the smell of burning flesh every day. Our family was wealthy until this war. The Nazis ordered our family to vacate their land and beautiful houses. In an hour they were put on trains and shipped away.
After my mother told us a story about the war; she simply would say, "This is why I came to Canada." She was embarrassed about the effects the war had on the world. As a child in school, I was harrassed for being of German heritage.
When I was a small girl, my mother made all of us kids go to a church. Because we lived in government housing she knew we need God in our lives. At four I sang in front of the church, and felt the urge to do more for God.
Then, a few years later, she enrolled me in the Private Christian School. With the help of our Adventist church I was able to further connect with God. My mother made unbelievable sacrifices for me. She did things I never truly understood until I became a mother.
Today when I make sacrifices for my son, when I'm exhausted and I just don't see the point of it all anymore.... I remember my mother and how she dearly wanted for me to have a better life than the one she had, starting with WWII.
